ESD-safe hot-air rework station with PID closed-loop temperature control, rapid heating, a 100–450°C working range and adjustable airflow for surface-mount component removal and repair.
Designed for SMD rework on packages such as QFP, PLCC, SOP and BGA, with intelligent cool-down that continues airflow after shutdown until the heater drops below 100°C.
The SMTmax 850D is designed for soldering and desoldering surface-mount IC packages including QFP, PLCC, SOP and BGA devices. A diaphragm pump supplies adjustable airflow while PID-controlled closed-loop sensing supports rapid heating and stable temperature control.
When the station is switched off, its intelligent cooling system continues air delivery and automatically powers down once the hot-air temperature falls below 100°C. This helps cool the heater safely before the unit fully shuts down.
See the 850D in use for a closer look at the control panel, hot-air handpiece, nozzle setup and rework process.
